Convertible Thunderbird

I was thinking, since there are convertible Cougars, Mark vii, and Mustangs, has anyone heard of a fox Thunderbird convertible? Was just thinking it might be a cool concept.

I've seen a pic of one in Mexico... well not really a convertible as it was more just a chopped top.
I think the problem was the sloped back window on a bird. the tops used for the cougars were borrowed from the Buick Rivs, which I think were borrowed from something else.

But hey, anything can be done.... go for it

Nah I'll pass on chopping my roof up haha. I was just parked to a newer Mustang and the roof line looked similar so it got me thinking.

These  things are wiggly enough WITH a roof...I'll keep mine, lol

But it would be neat to see one go topless.

I would think that a top from an '89 or so Camaro would work better than the Buick-type top...since the Camaro and the Bird had a similar roofline.

You don't know what wiggly is until you cut the roof off...  there's a reason why a lot of mustangs were only 2 seaters.
The panels right behind the doors actually move in and out.. I should make a video of how bad the car is held together without a roof.
I'm actually afraid to go past 45 mph in my vert.. also, if you don't park on something perfectly flat, the top won't touch the windshield enough so you can latch it

Evolution 2 will be mainly trying to fix all the flexing, and safety issues with the vert.. There's gonna be a lot of welding I think..

I would take a stab at trying to make one though... but it's real hard to find something rust free to just cut up and try

I'd think SN95 Mustang bits would work, since the SN95 stang is a similar size...
