What to do for my 45th Birthday

Well, I am 45 next december and I need to do something cool. Soooo, I have decided to take my Tbird to the Bonneville Salt Flats for Speed Week.  I think it's in August, but that's OK.  I wanna hit a least 160.  I have a LOT of planning to do, but it just has to be done.  Let the planning begin!!!!!!!!

Good luck with that. The Bird will require some work won't it? Safety equipment, new gears, tires, etc.?

Is it,or are you going to lower it? 160 is a lot.

Not really. By that i mean its a reasonable and achievable goal. I buried the needle in mine (160) and had more to go. Not sure what the margin of error is at those speeds. I'd say 300-350 hp and some 327s should get him close. At the time the car was a T45/327 geared car with the Mach 1 wheels. I really doubt it would do it now with the T56/410s and heavy arse knock off staggered FR500s.

Clean up the underside of the car..aerodynamically. get some sheet aluminum and make a belly pan. Its like a parachute under there.

it's more about enjoying a once in a lifetime experience than hitting the number, although gettting into the 150MPH club would be cool.
