Some wonderful person remodeled my car.

Yes, sometime while out today some wonderful individual remodeled the passenger side of my Turbo Coupe. They managed to damage the right 1/4, the door, and the right front fender. How nice... of course they kindly left a note... :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: Ok, right... maybe not.

Jerks :flip:

Anyway, I already had it looked at, so we'll see what the insurance company says. Dimes to donuts though, they'll total it. If they do, I'll check on the buy-back as there are some good parts. 16" Enkei mesh with brand new Yokahamas, rebuilt IHI with larger compressor, Bob's log, 140mph speedometer with 15,000 miles on it, plus all the usual Turbo stuff in good shape.

Of course this was after a day that started with our new HVAC system not working, and ended with me dropping my nice DeWalt chop saw and breaking it. What a day... sigh.

This is what I fear more than anything else - idiots like that. This is why I WILL have my alarm fire 720P/60fps cameras up and start recording within seconds as it can help bring these idiots to justice. So what's it to someone these days that is caught in a hit and run to property?

Someone hit my car and messed up the trunk so it didn't close. I don't know how they didn't break the tail lights. I beat it out and you can't even tell, but I did trip the fuel cutoff switch.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Seems like when it rains...it pours on you.  I know the feeling.  Hang in there.

How do you shoot photos of the car incident as it happens??

I have the ability, but frankly, not the time. I just have too many other projects that are pressing.

I need to raise the floor that connects the hallway to the foyer so my wife doesn't have to keep stepping down, then up, when going from the kitchen or front door to the back of the house.

I need to finish cleaning, arranging, and wiring the garage.

I need to finish my kitchen rearrange (I'm moving the breakfast area and the refrigerator around).

I need to get my book put together and develop my seminar to get my business off the ground.

My Triumph Bonneville project is calling.

And then there is my 442 project...

I'll get out there later today and take pics.

All in all, life really doesn't suck. I love our new house, despite the few trials and tribulations associated with it. My wife loves her new(ish) job (she still works for the same company, just in a different state), and my business idea is coming along well.

To tell the truth, even if they say it's repairable, I'm not sure I will repair it. First, there is no way the new paint will really match, so in all reality it needs a whole new paint job. Second, it still needs to have the interior redone. And third, I keep looking at E34 M5's.

Hmmm....

Many alarms have a trigger output for when it is set off. Cameras draw too much power when on so having the alarm power on a relay with a shutoff timer will cause recording to occur for about 30 seconds (30 second alarm shutoff from last trigger, plus a 30 second timer I would set on the relay). This can be tied into a cheap SD-card recorder or a more elaborate carpc setup.
