any MBC will work, with the 86 you should have a T3 turbo, it is maxed at about 20 psi

clip the hoses off at the BCS solnoid, but leave the wires hooked up
now at the comprossor side of the turbo, you have a fitting with 2 hoses, one went to the BCS the other runs to the WGA, either block one nipple or remove and replace with a single nipple fitting (its a 1/8 npt fitting) run the hose from the compessor to the bottom of the MBC and then a new hose to the WGA.

the next cheap and (semi) easy mod will be to gut the upper intake, a sawsall will be needed ( a fire/rescue blade seems to work best) and cut the bannanna out

when you have the upper intake off you will see this...

after you make the 4 cuts, you can smooth the sharp edges and/or port the rest of the fins out. so you end up with something like this...

trim the gasket to fit the upper and clean all the metal flake out of the upper.

also if you have the time, knife edge the lower intake and gasket match

also grab up a ranger roller cam and follower set, this is a cheap cam upgrade, and been proven over the years to support appox 300hp

Dont turn your boost up too much without an intercooler.

the intake mod will allow you to pack moore air to be ready when the valve opens, it will nod increase or decrease the boost, just allow you to have more compressed air ready to enter the engine

the intakes are the same for na or turbo
