Quad shock setup.

Need help !!!

I am looking into getting some frame rail brackets ,for a quad shock setup on my 1983 Thunderbird.it looks to me,that the bolt holes on my frame rail, are on the bottom of the rail and not the sides.what year Mustang or Thunderbird, should I be looking for,to get these brackets from?

also,on the passenger side,it looks like the gas tank is going to interfere with the shock on that side.any help on this, would be apriciated.

The quads don't mount towards the inside of the frame. they mount between the frame and tires. Thus the reason alot of people take them off when running overly large tires.

I'm pretty sure Mustang's quad shocks brackets go on the side rather than the bottom. Any Sport/TC/XR7 should have the brackets you need.

bolts go through bottom of frame rail, bracket moves quad to side.  not sure how the 85 tank differs from the 83's.

quads are a bandaid.  stagger the rear vertical shocks like the '68CJ.

I'll take a few pics here in a sec of the Stang 8.8 quad brackets, AND my Tbird quad brackets to show the differences.

Of course, this is on an '88 (tbird, stang is an 89) your's could very well be different, I'm not sure. Anyway, pics coming up.

It looks like I need brackets, just like the ones
Skidoo posted.

I will have to relocate the hole that is on the bracket, attached to the axle, because I have a 86 Mustang rearend, that will be replacing the 7.5 ,that is currently in the car.

Being that my 7.5 is built rather stoutly, I've no intention of swapping it out so I'm on a never ending quest to find one of those FRPP kits that are now discontinued.....

I put the quad shock setup on my '83. I used the brackets and rear axle from an '88 TC. The gas tank does not interfere with them. I will try to snap some pictures for you, but it is down for the winter and it is not easy to get to the passenger side.
