My experience with this type of scenerio is: it costs a lot more of both fix it when it turns out to be junk.I've learned over the years not to take much stock in magazine article engine builds. But hey, we all have our own learning curves and have to make our own mistakes. Hope you have good luck with your build!what would be bad about an explorer bottom end fitted with edelbrock e-streets, trick flow track heat intake, 70mm TB, 90mm MAF, and a Comp Cam (still undecided on grind)? The education you can receive about cylinder heads, induction and camshafts can answer your question about "what would be bad about..".Prior to the existence of that site, getting good reliable engine tech was a shot in the dark. There are tons of arm chair magazine article experts out there who will regurgitate what they've read or heard on every other internet forum out there. That is not what this site is about. Information provided (other than the Grass Roots section) comes from experts and the highly experienced. It's a great resource, use it (before you spend your cash on parts you'll regret).A word of caution before you post: It's a no nonsense site. Get pen 15y or come off as a know it all, you'll shagged out pretty quick! Quote Selected
MM&FF article Reply #17 – September 20, 2009, 01:16:16 AM seriously, I wouldn't use the e street heads unless your never going to upgrade anything. There really not all that much better then say a gt-40 head. For a couple hundered more you could throw on any type of trickflows and gain 25+ hp all around. Quote Selected
