Window Motor Woes

In short~
JUST NOW found out the passenger side window is has been down all night on the Aerostar, Because mom put it down yesterday and it would not go back up.

And in 5 hours or so they will be leaving again to go to a VERY long hospital visit.
So,
I need to get this sucker fixed or rolled up at least.

So far it's looking like the regulator is dead, And not looking very possible to remove it with the window down (how it is).

Help? Advice? I just got up so i'm groggy~Pardon the briefness and lack of details...

Hit the salvage yard STAT !!! Get the motor you need.If it's the regulator itself (I'm betting the motor),then make sure it's lubed up.If you replace the motor (easy stuff, takes minimal time),then make sure the track is lubed for the window track anyway. Now,GO !!!!!

Good news!
I was sure this thing was toast, I pounded on the door and areas all around it while flipping the switch, Tried to lift it while powering it.
Powered it directly with a 15v drill battery and a car battery~No signs of life...
Then finally i got a long wrench and a BFH
It came to life (Barely) but enough that i could lift the glass all the way up!.

I was worried there...
I could not see any possible way to access the bolts and mounts, let alone change out the motor while the window was down.

And your right Vinnie, Its the motor.
Dunno why i was calling it a regulator.

It kind of works now.
It will go down no problem (Afraid to see what happens if it goes all the way down again).
But needs to be "Pushed" back up while holding the switch.

I'm going to disconnect the switches to it until i get it swapped out or fixed.

I don't know if the Aerostar uses tha same motors or not but if you can hear the motor spinning without any action from the window then you probably only need the 'pills' (or maybe the gears) replaced. They're available in the HELP! section at the auto parts store for about $10.

The pills are called Window regulator gear plugs in the manufacturers catalog...

If you replace the motor,go to the salvage yard and that's the place to learn how to remove the motor. If you break the salvaged car,well.....it was already salvaged.
