2.3 slight hesitation

86 XR7, when the car is first started idles around 1500, tap the gas and comes back down to 1000 or so. Havent driven it very much but this is what I know. Took to town today to get inspected, ran fine, passed ok, stopped at gas station and put 20 bucks in(it was very low before). Drove home and from time to time at stops seems to have a miss, never stalls but you can see it on the tack and feel it. If the car is in neutral or reverse this doesnt occur. My initial thought was vacuum leak but now I am not sure. Would a TFI module cause that? Bad gas? Car has 1000 miles on a reman motor and didnt do this before the gas station. Figure I will change fuel filter this weekend but if any one has any suggestions on other things to check let me know. Thanks

im going with bad gas, seems to be alot of that in new york.
drive it a few times and see if anything changes.

I am thinking that as well, I just went out and ran it for quite awhile and it didnt act up at all.
