I cant seem to find a good answer on here about replacing the wannabe chrome trim that goes around the car. Is there any type of real chrome that I could buy on a roll and glue in the trim?

I just tinted my license plate covers, put a chrome plate surround on it, and it made me realise that all of the plastic chrome is wasted.

The chrome surround on the side windows is real metal, and looks great to this day, and it looks like if it were on a straight roll it would be the perfect fit and size.

Just trying to get the parts list finalized for the big restoration even though its 2 years or so away. ( college eating all my money :beatyoass:)

The chrome trim on the front and rear bumper covers can simply be pulled off.It was applied with double sided 3M tape. The side moldings are different, they have to be covered with a chrome tape of some kind. There used to be a guy here that sold it,but he's long gone.Check at some body supply places and see if they have some quality chrome trim tape. You may have to do some tpuppies, and take your time so you don't end up with bubbles and wrinkles in the tape once it's applied.

He sold it, but wasn't the source.  His markups were extensive.

I've contemplated switching my beltline trim to red to match my c-pillar emblems.  I think it would look good if I painted the TC hood scoops to match as well...I'd have to black out my window trim though.
