interior coming together .. finally June 19, 2009, 06:41:52 PM The last couple of weekends have been pretty good for progress. I've managed to empty 5 big boxes of new and old parts. Door panels - ondashpad - mountedheadliner - innew visors and harnesses - in and strungOH console and harness - mounted and strungw00t!There's a lot less head room now that the liner's installed. The back seat area and floor pans need to be finished, and the carpet and center console can go back. Then dash wiring will be all that's left. Not sure if I want to install the interior c-pillar trim before the body gets done. Any opinions? Quote Selected

interior coming together .. finally Reply #4 – June 19, 2009, 09:31:14 PM Well, for starters, are they home made or can you procure something like that? Quote Selected
interior coming together .. finally Reply #5 – June 19, 2009, 09:34:01 PM I'd like to know about 'em too. I have the same overhead console and have yet to find visors that fit right. The stock ones were too long, and the ones from a moonroof-equipped car are too short. Quote Selected
interior coming together .. finally Reply #6 – June 19, 2009, 11:18:34 PM The Ranger console interferes with the stock visors. So, without really knowing how easy it was to mod the factory visors to fit, at some point, I went completely insane. I dissected four factory visors (a pair each of lighted and unlighted) and four aftermarket video visors. I've been working on grafting a pair of aftermarket visors to the factory lighted visors. After getting neck-deep in this, a eureka moment happened and I figured out how to use the aftermarket visors more or less intact. That's what you see in the car. That's what's been holding up the headliner installation.Thunderchicken - I posted how to mod the factory visors so they'd clear, but it was jumbled in with some other stuff. Take a hobby knife to the inside tip of the visor so that you can peel the covering away from the plastic center. Cut the exposed plastic ~1"-1.5", then apply some adhesive to the exposed plastic and some in the tip. Lay the covering back onto the plastic and stuff the covering into the tip.V8 Demon, seach for "video visors" on evilbay (Pyle initally appears to be a little bit higher quality than the other brand). One problem is the mounts for either brand are 90* while ours are angled. Another problem is they're shorter than ours, so there's going to be a gap, either in the middle or at the A pillars. Those in the car now are modified to accept the factory 'plain' visor hardware. The visors are actually different from each other because I bought them separately. I had the hardware powdercoated before assembly, and painted the plastic with the same paint that I used on the replacement dash pad.Video feeds aren't connected yet. Either of the two brands I got support two separate video feeds (RCA) and come with remote controls. At some point, I'll finish the other pair and install, or sell, them. I've got plenty of pics, one of these days I put together a post if anyone's interested. Quote Selected
