NOisey PS pump

My pump is so noisey, and is SO loud when turning, it is almost embarrassing to drive the car.

I sucked the fluid out of the pump and replaced it with lucas PS treatment.  It didnt help, maybe made it louder.

Anything else cheap I can try, I thought I saw a post on here about Honda PS fluid, but I cant find it now.

Any advise?

Anyone put a manual rack in a daily driver in one of these cars?

Pump must be on its last leg.

Its a pretty easy thing to do (replacing the pump) all you really need are some hand tools and a pulley puller, which you can rent at the autostore (well actually borrow, you pay like a 30 dollar deposit and get your money back when you return it), a refurbished pump (maybe 30 -35 bucks) and some fluid and your good to go.

$50 for new pump, at least here. I pulled one hose out and ran the motor and turned the wheel till all the fluid came out.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

I'd pull a line off of the rack and drain it that way.
