Choosing front springs project 5.0 turbo TC

Hey guys, been a while since I was here, but I need info from the experts.

I'm doing a fun car, a 1988 TC with a iron head HO engine and a (heavy!) 4R70W auto trans. The car will also have a single Holset turbo mounted on passenger side with a front air/air intercooler. Explorer accessories including A/C. Battery relocated to trunk, but that's about the only weight savings in the engine bay.

With all the extra weight I'm expecting the TC front springs to be too soft. (I'll keep them in until the build is done just for reference.)

Is there a decent off the shelf spring I should consider? The 8606?

Thanks, and if interested the build will be documented here:http://www.theturboforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=124857.0

I think you'll find the 87-88 TC springs are some of the heaviest of the bunch.  The cars weren't light (thus a decent load rating) and they were "sporty" (thus a more aggressive spring rate).

I'd run them until you get things built and see what you wind up with.

Thanks, Chuck. I was hoping you'd respond to this one!

What you are saying certainly jives with the info I've gathered so far. I'll see what I get when I'm done.
