And now....the mirrors.....

I took the py 20 year old mirrors off of the Sport and decided to clean them up.I wet sanded them with 800,1000,and 2000 grit, then polished them with Mother's Billet Polish. They turned out great. No paint to chip, just shiny plastic (they are shinier than the pics show,I can see myself in them). The whole process from start to finish took about an hour..

Here's a "before" shot.....

Here's an "after" shot.....

Another one.....

The last one (I like it).....

ive always wanted to put a light inback of the mirror,, a light other than white,, like blue or something and would run off your turn signal when you flip the lever.

nice work on that , by the way.

Thanks a lot.Adding a light would seem to be pretty easy to do.Just pop the mirror itself off of the housing and go to town on it.

Back in the day you could get an insurance discount for that. I wonder if you can if you made one yourself?

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

No clearcoat. With clearcoat I get chips from rocks, etc.By just polishing the plastic,I can just break out a little polish anytime,no prep work. All natural.

You could get some mirrors from a car/truck that has the signals in them and have them cut to fin the housings. My uncle used a guy that custom cuts mirros to fit. It was cheaper than getting a new one for him. Just a thought.

Those look really good I wish I could find a good driverside mirror for my car.

I think I have a set of chrome mirrors and a set of black ones in the garage. The black ones are the ones I just replaced (work fine),and the chrome ones are out there for some reason I can't remember. They may have come from the blue car in the banner.
