1993 cougar wont go into drive+no B. lites September 07, 2008, 08:05:28 PM shift lever {automatic}wont go into drive and brake lights not working,removed switch on pedal and readusted worked for a month now bad again,ordered new switch,waiting on part,is there anything else that would cause this problem?Isaw a vacume switch up there also ,pedal actuated,what the hell is that? not in haynes manualthanks:toilet: Quote Selected

Set your emergency brake while the car is off. Start your car and then put the transmission in gear. The emergency brake should retract on its own if your car is equipped with this feature.
