my old foe the duraspark August 25, 2008, 07:40:26 PM been working on a '91 mustang mini stock, trouble is it has burnt out 2 boxes. I put a different one on and it ran for once, had to keep feathering it to run, then I shut it off after like 5 min, it sounded like it fought timing for a min. then backfired now it just turns over, and the box is getting warm again, is there something screwball I'm missing here?specs:91 mustang lx 4cyl hatch back *has a 85 svo nose and hood*oval port head with 2bbl intake and motorcraft carb *rules said stock carb* Quote Selected

my old foe the duraspark Reply #5 – August 25, 2008, 09:20:42 PM Think about that for a second. Youre using a carb for a stock 5.8 liter engine on a stock 2.3 liter engine. Quote Selected

my old foe the duraspark Reply #8 – August 26, 2008, 01:34:24 PM Are you using Motorcraft boxes? I couldn't keep a Autozone/Advance Auto box in my car for more than a couple of weeks. Put a dingy old motorcraft box in that I got from a junkyard to get me home and I never had a problem with it since. Quote Selected
