3.8l aod removal

So I'm having trouble getting my tranny to come off of the motor. all the bellhousing bolts and the torque converter bolts are off. the driveshaft has been disconnected and the tranny mounts are out of the car. The tranny won't slide away from the motor.

Any suggestions?

Everytthing on this car thus far has been seized, but i find it hard ot believe the tranny wont seperate after rocking and pulling at it.

dowel pins are still holding it.  They will make you think its still got a bolt in.

I would run two wratcet straps under the trans from each sub frame or somewhere.

put a come along from the rear of the tranny to the rear axle.
support the tranny with plywood or whatever to a floor jack.

crank the come along

play catch.

Have someone help you, to catch the converter, especially if it's gonna be reused, easy to mess it up yanking it off like that.

Might also lay a piece of plywood under there, if you're doing this on a hard surface, it'll help keep the trans. case from breaking or cracking so easily...of course, if you're replacing it all with something else, it doesn't matter lol.

hopefully you have already pushed the converter back all the way.

I hate removing AOD's from the bottom ,, heavy fuggers.

Sure enough the dowels were fused which is why it  wouldn't come out.

A pry bar may be the most useful tool there is.

Thanks guys.
