Got a dumb question asked to me today

My freind asked me what it was bout the 2.3 Turbo Motors and I told himNothen wrong with the 5.0 mustangs or T-bird/Cougars but whats not to love or a fast High Horsepower 2.3 Turboed Mustang, T-bird/Cougar, and his ccomment to me was why and I sayed why do u drive a P.O.S 2001 GMC 150. The stupid thing was he didn't have an answer I hate people who can't explain why the love there vehicle.

Bascially I want to know what it is why yall like driving the fox bodyed birds/cats.

My response

Nothen say Ford racing like a Fast Mustang or Thunderbird, Ya the 5.0's are great but. U roll up at a local drag srip with a 2.3 Turboed Mustang or T-bird/Cougar U get laughed at but theres nothen more rewarding than spanken a V-8 Chev with a 2.3 fox boded car. What yall think.

Why do I love my BIRD.  Well I love my turbo coupe not only cause it is mine and that it is BAD ACE! But it all goes back to when I was younger around 10-11 years old. A buddy of mine down the street DAD had a brand new 86 Turbo Coupe. He took us both for a ride and it was a awesome ride. I was hooked. I have wanted one ever since. So I've had one for some time. I still love it and will NEVER part with her. It also helps that this car was a gift to me from my best friend so it is more than special to me anyhow. Those are the reasons I love my BIRD!

PS its a FOX Aero bird! You gotta LOVE'EM! 4 Eyes RULE!          (insert 83-84 Thunderbird emblem HERE)

And then I park it and I run the risk of walking into the lamppost at the advance auto instead of walking through the DOOR because Im walking towards the building.....but my head is turned over my shoulder glaring at my car like a hot chick (unless one actually walks by LOL)

i remember back in early 1983 when the first EFIturbo birds where at the showroom dealer. i took a black bird with 5speed tranny and grey inside  out for a test drive. both me and the sales men went out for a test drive. salemen drove off the lot to a spot, then i drove back. the sales men pulls up to a light and the next light is about  15 blocks away.  when a newer corvete pull up next to us. the salesmen says watch this. blew my mind that a salemen was going to streat race.:burnout:
i remember  the corvete was ahead until the boost kick in, then i didn't see the corvete any more. boy that was the first time i ever wanted  to sign my life away for a brand new car. the deal fell through because my age at that time  and i couldn't get full coverage insurance on the new car for the car loan. after that ,i alwise paid cash for my rides.
i remember that day like warm fuzzy kinda of way. that probly why i like the 83 to 86 tbird/cougar the best of of all the thunderbirds and cougars,.
remember it easier to fix them, than to find them after they been crushed.

Well, I don't have my 88tc anymore but it was a fun car to drive. The first time I took it on a test drive I was sold on it. The boost kicked in, the car got sideways, and I wanted it bad. The best part was the odometer was only showing 19k. Told the guy at the small used dealership that I would be back with the cash in a few hours. That S.O.B. sold it before I got back. But, I was looking through local paper ads a while later and found a listing for a 88tc with 22k on the clock. It was the same car, but the guy had hit a deer. At least I found it again.
I would say that I miss the car, but I don't really. I love my '86 too much; wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. I still have my 2.3t project '87 ranger. So I guess I still have much respect for the turbo crowd.

It was the summer of '93 and my Dad and I went out to look for a car for me. Up until then I was driving my Moms '86 2.3 notchback. I really liked driving the Mustang, the carburated 2.3 was the underdog. I kinda connected with that aspect. So we find 2 T-birds on this little used car lot. Both same year and color, bright canyon red '86s. One had a six and one had a four. Both were the same price too. So my Dad thinks I wasn't ready for anything bigger than a four cylinder, not realizing what a Turbo Coupe was, we drove away in it. Big mistake on his part. After an '88 hood and intercooler conversion and some tweaking, I dropped over two seconds from my original 1/4 mile ET of 17.66 to a best of 14.56 at 92mph. Stock everything. I still love my '86 to this day even though I haven't seen it since '98 when I sold it to make way for family life. Here's a pic.X

Yep thats the best thing bout the Turbo Coupe is that it can beat a 80's model corvette. Got to love that.
