btw, don't see how it's a big deal unless you're going with Redline (or similar).  If I'm off, let me know, I've got a few qts left, just give me an addy.

well, as a matter of fact, i am :shakeass:

i received an offer to supply all the fluids i need in my tbird from one of the teams we build chassis for. i am gonna run by there this morning before they get into full swing for the day and pick everything up. they run redline synthetics in everything; probly snag a bottle of water wetter while im there as well.

altough i did not use power steering fluid on my new rack project,, I did not come near the 1.6 qts.

I had a completely empty pump,, new pres/return line and a new rack.

I added my dextronIII filling the pump.
started car
rotated wheel full left / right
added more
rotated wheel again
added a tiny bit more

all said and done, the whole system took 3/4 of a qt.

I thought it would take alteast the whole qt but it did not.

Not to hijack, but about how long we talkin for a full steering system replacement? (Rack, Pump, and lines) DS inner joint is gone, but the systems so contaminated with grey nasty lookin crud, I figure it's best to just replace it all. Outter BJ's are good. No play at all. Just hope I don't damage them while doing the rack.  Pump seal is drooling and the reservoir appears to have a crack somewhere.  Keep getting PS fluid all over the place, dripping down on oil filter (verified it ain't the filter leaking).  This is the ONLY stinkin leak I have right now, and I want it gone.
