what is it?

i am reinstalling the motor tomorrow and i found an oval box directly underneath the intake(bolted to the block) with what looks like a water pump sized(3/4") outlet pointing toward the front of the motor. anyone know what it goes to? sorry no pics, i dont know how to reduce them.

88 Thunderbird LX: 306, Edelbrock Performer heads, Comp 266HR cam, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, bunch of other stuff.

okay th elink SSX put up now shows the part. its directly under the intake and pressed into the block.  The outlet is pointing to the front of the motor and is @5/8" or so.

It's the block breather.  From there a hose goes to the PCV valve and then to the underside of the upper intake just after the throttle body on a stock system.
