old project

for those who think that my car was bad. Here's another fun project of mine in the 80s. the pics were taken right before I painted it.
here's the good side of my van
There was a lot of welding in this project. the floor was also repaired. It seems to be my thing. LOL

here's the same side. I replaced the entire side from the body line down.
All the way around the van and the doors got new lower panels inside and out.

This was a 75 e-100 that I changed the front end over to an 80's front end. I rebuilt the round headlight buckets to put in rectangle lights. the old turn signals are still in the front apr0n. I remember picking the front grill up at the trash pile from a body shop.
there was just a little chip in it.

Wow. You restored a ~10 year old VAN. I'd be like "its a van...LATER have fun sittin in the yard til they crush ya!" Givin' otherwise unappreciated sheetmetal much-needed attention, that's what happened there! Very nice work, looks err lookED great. :hick:

That's just amazing. I know who to ask if I need bodywork advice, that's for sure!

LOL
I needed something to transport my band equipment when we were playing out all the time.
Plus its a Ford
plus it had a 351 in it
plus it was cheap
the whole thing including new panels and paint was about $600 and about 3 weeks of work
drove it for about 6 years.
Plus I can't sit around doing nothing for very long
Plus it's fun
LOL

I would help anybody out thats close enough to get here.
If I was to take my car to a body shop, It would probably cost about 8-10 grand to replace everything and paint. from what i've been told by retired and older body guys.
5 just to replace both quarters.
