Monitoring EEC-IV

I came across a web site that has a number of computer programs that appear to run on a laptop to monitor all aspects of the EEC-IV in realtime, not just dump codes.  However I could not find a contact link to ask further questions.

If someone has/or has used this type of software:

1)  Is there a special cable to link the car to the laptop or is a special daughter board in the laptop required?
2)  If a cable link, does it use USB, Serial Port, other?
3)  Where does it connect on the car -- underhood test plug to obtain codes or is a breakout box needed which taps into the EEC-IV?

Any other input appreciated.

I have seen similar things with mustang builds, check out the mustang sites and i'm sure you could find information on it. generally I would think all you would need is a serial port, although usb is the new favorite.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.
