1998 Taurus CD/radio

For my dad's birthday/father's day/late Christmas present, I was thinking about trying to put a "new" (translated "junkyard") radio in his car.  He has a 98 Taurus with only the radio, and I want to get him a CD player in it.  Only thing is, I don't know if the wiring is right.  A single one should plug right in, but if I'm doing it, I rather go for broke and get the 6 CD changer in the trunk.  Does anyone know if the wiring is there, or where it would be so I could find it?  I want it to be a surprise, so I can't tear into his car.

You should get lucky and have it work. I had the premium, non Mach Audio setup in my car with the six disc changer in the trunk which I changed out for an after-market single disc player. Check in the trunk behind the liner on the drivers side and locate the connectors that plug into the amp (presuming there is one). If there are 2 plugs you should be good to go. If not, you could just grab the amp, wire harness, control/head unit, and changer from a junker and just swap that in.
