I cant do this anymore!!! -----Long read

I woke up all cozy and warm this morning realizing that the insulation that i blew in the attic last week was well worth the time and effort.
Its the warmest the bedroom has been in the 100  years the house has been standing.
So i get out out bed. go down to the kitchen to get my usual pot-o-coffee. look outside and see this

So I say to myself, cool I just got the snowblower out last week. I'll take care of the snow after I finish my coffee, then time to work on the cougar. After all, its been almost 4 weeks since i worked on it.
as I'm half way through the driveway I see this

Thats a picture of my lovely wife. She's on her way to the christmas wonderland store.---Again.
So your probably asking yourself. What's wrong with that.
so i'll tell you.
In the past years we always decorated our house for christmas. I've never had a problem with doing that. of course in the past we always had average sized ranch houses. a sat. afternoon and your good to go till christmas.
5 years ago we moved into the house that we currently live. For 5 years I've been remodeling and putting off not decorating for christmas. This year I said no problem. I would put the lights up for  the holidays.
2 weeks ago i started putting lights on the house. but of course being the way I am, I can't do anything half-assed. I wired the house specific for christmas lights. Everything is run on it's own breaker and switched from the front and back doors.
So i'm putting up my lights this year, everything is going good. and i realize. I don't have enough lights from our last house. so we buy some more. And again I run out.(btw they lie about how much you can cover with a string of lights).
today i plan on finishing up the exterior illumination portion of our christmas fiesta. My wife comes home with more lights and goodies to finish the house. I start to put the lights up and guess what. I'm short by 1 string of lights on the garage.

So I have proclaimed that I'm done with christmas lights for this year. next year's another year. i'll put the extra set of lights on next year. I can't do this anymore!
just to give you an idea of how many lights I put up, the house is 50' long on the porch side, and 40' long across the front. the garage is 38' long.
I know, there's no way there coming down unless we get some freak warm spell after new years. There's  enough lights for another 2 weekends of tear down. not to mention the lights on the ground.
Just thought i would share the reason i'm not getting my car done.
On the car side of things. I've got fenders, quarters, drivers door and TC hood. Still looking for pass. door and better chrome mirrors.
Have the sheet metal to repair the floor pans . the front frame has been blasted and rust encapsulated. the floor will be next
I'll keep everyone posted when thing start to happen.
here's a couple refresh pics from my last post

That's a good sized house...got any nighttime pics of your lights?
Looks like it'll be lit up pretty and nice.
After the separation and the eventual divorce, I don't know where my lights are at, I've got 3 strings out of over 100, at least.
Least I've got my car, my truck, my pets, my tools, and my happiness and sanity. :D

Looking good on the Coug too!

Sorry guys. that was my christmas venting.
I would rather restore 4 cars then put that many lights up. I just found out I'm not done with decorating LOL  oh well merry frickin christmas.
the driveway only sucks when theres a foot of snow on it.
Nitetime pics don't show up well with the camera. I have to stand too far back to pick up any sort of light

Yeah my house is about as big as yours. I decided not to put up lights because, well, no one is comming over for Christmas:hick: . I'm going by my parents and grandparents for Christmas so I'm helping each of them decorate their houses. Fun......

Cougar looks like it's comming along nicely. I'll finally be done with this semester next week so I can get some stuff done on my T-bird like repainting the brakes (I do that every year so they look nice, I know I'm buttstuff retentive;) ) and finally getting around to painting my GT40 intake.

My driveway is about as long as yours too. A nice high horse power snowblower makes it almost fun to clean doesn't it? ;)

I guess the story was like a bad B scfi movie You'll always sit through it even though you know the end is going to be lame. lol

If i said i didn't want to hang lights nobody would ever remember that wonderful christmas story. the story of a man and his car, that he can't work on..lol

Indeed. Snow blowing should be a winter sport.
