Major miss in 2.3 turbo October 03, 2007, 09:21:14 AM I have a 86 turbocoupe and everything was running good, now all of a sudden theres a major miss in it. I changed plugs/wires which didnt help at all. At first it seamed to only do it under boost and once it was warmed up but now its pretty much constant and wont barely move. Now this all started and happened within about a 48-72hr period.any info is appreciated. Quote Selected

Major miss in 2.3 turbo Reply #8 – October 04, 2007, 10:02:48 AM Actually you can leave the exhaust mani in the car and just remove the upper intake. you can leave the lower on the head when you pull it off. Also maybe you have an exhaust restriction. maybe the cat is plugging up or something got bent causing less flow. If the compression checks out drop the down pipe and go for a run if the power is back and the miss is gone its in the exhaust. I had a cat plug up on me before idled fine but had no power and wouldn't build boost. Quote Selected

I had a issue with timing but got that taken care of and now it runs better but not good enough to drive....i had soem issues with fire from the exhaust manifold but it was just like a flame.....maybe ruiend the new head gasket?
