i always pull one wire at a time and match the old wire to a new one of equal length and switch em before moving on to the next wire. i realize that wont help you right now since all wires are probably removed, but keep that in mind next time.

well, if no one has a better or definate answer. you know that 4 and 8 are the longest since thier furthest from the distributor, one should be slightly longer of the two though, put the shorter one on the side the dizzy favors. once you use those two, find the next longest 2 wires remaining for cylinders 3 and 7. again, slightly shorter should be on the side the dizzy is on. repeat untill all 8 wires are used. i have never done a tune-up that didnt already have wires on it, but if i had to, thats how I would. hope this helps if no one has a better idea. good luck to ya.
