94 Mark VIII wont shift out of 2nd Reply #3 – October 03, 2007, 08:12:41 PM In 94 that should be 4.6 with the electroninc 4r70w tranny. From what I read no 2nd means that the tranny is on the way out or the electric actuator on the side of the tranny needs to be replaced. Quote Selected

94 Mark VIII wont shift out of 2nd Reply #7 – October 04, 2007, 12:30:06 AM another failing device behind the 4.6 ive noticed is the torque converters. The last of two i had tools on was reving high and not shifting. It would get out of first to second but lock in. Quote Selected
94 Mark VIII wont shift out of 2nd Reply #8 – October 04, 2007, 03:19:48 AM CHECK into the Manual Lever Position Sensor (MLPS) a lot of stores also call them "Neutral Safety Switch".Usually when the MLPS is going out the car will shift into neutral while cruising down the road. This problem also sounds like it could be the MLPS.Also check out http://www.lincolnsonline.com or http://www.markviii.org to look into that problem... Quote Selected
