the 90 lx would be a 4 lug unit unless not stock.  i would have to say it will bolt right in to ur existing control arms may be different width im not 100% clear on the interchange of exact same deminsions someone else can chip in there.  as far as the transmission goes it depends if you want a stick or auto if ur weekend racing involves drags then go with an auto.

If it's a stock rear end in a 2.3 90 LX it will be the same width as your 86's.

Sorry but no.

86-88 7.5 rears found in the Tbirds have the wider housing and the wider track.(Remember we've discussed this...)

It wil be 3/4" narrower per side than what is in there and the axles in his rear will not swap.

Chuck is correct.  I forgot what year the switch over occured on the axles.  My apologies.  CougarBirds got the wider axle housings in mid 85.  For some reason I was thinking 87.  Again sorry:shoothead

Anybody else notice it's 3.73 rear from a 90 2.3 Mustang?

I thought they were all 2.73 or 3.08's. But then I suck at rear-end identification :hick:

yes, you do. :hick: my 93 2.3l had 3.45 gears stock. 3.73 were commonly used in the 2.3's, due to the lack of power the motor made. :hick:

Yep. Most of them at the yards by me have 3.73s. It's a cheap way to get 3.73 gears for your 7.5 though :hick:
