A/C Grinding and a Strange Squeak

Ok, two part question, both may or may not be related.

#1) Whenever I run the A/C and am driving at a low speed, such as when accelerating from a dead stop, or when stopped altogether...and even to a lower extent when I'm coasting at high speed and am not in the gas, I can feel this very distinct grinding vibration on the floorboard. If I put my feet on the pedals, I can't feel it, but if I put my foot right on the floor just in front of the seat I can really feel this vibration. ONLY with the A/C on. I say grinding because that's what it feels like. What would cause this?

#2) At low speeds, and from time to time when accelerating from a dead stop, I hear this intermittent deep squeak from the front of the car. The best way to describe it would be Metal on Metal. It's not a light chirp like from the brakes, but a deeper squeal. Almost like the rotors are rubbing on something. Never hear it at high speeds, only low speeds. The noise travels through the whole car. I want to say it's a suspension thing, because I really don't know how the engine could make that noise.

Could Warped Rotors cause this? I ask because I've always had a strong vibration when traveling at speeds of 65mph+.

Considering the only moving part in the A/C system is the Compressor.. I would look there.  Bad blower motors are pretty obvious.

I'd guess the compressor as well. Mine is noisy as hell and will have to be replaced before I start driving the car again, lest it seize up, tear the belt off, and leave me stranded somewhere :hick:

As for the squeak, try the ball joints. If they're dry they'll squeak, and if they're the factory ones chances are they're dry. You can't grease 'em so you'll need new ones.

C'mon you're smarter than that... If the clutch bearing seizes, the comp runs all the time... If the compressor bearings seize, then the clutch bearings still are free... Now if they both seize... U fornicated...:hick:

Our old '86 Grand Marquis had a compressor that sounded like it was tearing it's self apart(this was '93-earlier)... But worked fine... When I had to repl the evaporator, I inst a used, but very quiet replacement... Front bearing went out in less than a month... Re inst the noisy comp, it's still on it(wife's aunt has it since '00)...
