New Shots of the '86 & '96

Things have been pretty hectic in my life for the past two months. I was able to spend some time back home and drive the '86, which was practically medicinal. I forgot how much I enjoy driving that car; even if it's the most fragile and unreliable thing I've ever owned.
I figured I would take some shots of both cars while I had the free time. The '96 is proving to be a very solid and reliable car. I've put 25k miles on that car in the span of three years, and it has never left me stranded. I don't care what people say about MN12s - my '96 is a great car all around.
In any event, here are some shots of both cars.

I'm still trying to find a way of eliminating the hood gap on the '86. The intercooler is a little higher than it should be with the way I installed it on the T3.

The '96 originally had the paisley pattern fabric seats. I developed a very strong distaste towards them, so I found a full set of gray leather seats ASAP and installed them. The rest of the interior will remain unchanged - I like it as-is.
The same goes for the '86. I love everything about it, as a matter of fact. I only wish I could find some mint, uncracked leather seats in the same color scheme.

Looks good man. Thats the only down fal of my 91 is that the seats are really uncomfortable. I wish there was a way to put a set of Fox body tbird seats in it.

The only thing I see wrong with the interior of the 86 is the fact that you are running a narrowband A/F meter.  Lol don't get me wrong, I am too, but a turbo car should have a wideband.

Looking good:D

You car has made me decide that at some point I have to replace the 8 holes on mine with Turbines.

Where did you get the shifter boot on the 96?

Thanks for the comments, fellas.

Agreed. I think a wide-band is the only way to go, but I cheezed out on expenses and decided to go (for now) with the narrow-band. If nothing else, it's good for impressing people who ride in the car.

This is something I did with my '86 GS and my '88 XR7. In my GS, I hated how the buttstuffog clock clashed with the base digital cluster, but I loved the buttstuffog clock. When I bought the '88 XR7, its buttstuffog gauges clashed with the digital clock it had. I swapped them and never looked back.
One of the first things I did to this '86 was to remove the digital clock and wire in the buttstuffog. It doesn't keep time very well, though. I think some of the gears have missing teeth. If you watch it long enough, you will see the second hand change direction and go back a few seconds.

The vent windows are one of my favorite parts of that car. If it's above 60*, they will be open. I love showing them off.

You can also see in the interior picture that the car has incorrect door panels. I'm doing my best to find correct ones (vinyl insert, reverse scheme), but they're just too uncommon.

Slamedcat:
I bought it at AutoZone about three years ago. It was in the "rice aisle" under the brand name APC (the only thing I've ever bought from APC). It had some electroluminescent wire piping, which I promptly removed. The boot is a very tight fit over the shift indicator, so the material must be worked out and stretched. I love the way it looks in there, actually.

I can relate to that, I like mine too.
Many years ago, there used to be an '86 XR-7 in my area that was the same color as mine. One of my friends told me that he knew right away if it was my car or not. When I said it's easy, just look at the color of the mirrors, or third brake light and he said no, he just looked for the vent windows. ;)

I almost asked you about that too, I have a complete leather interior to go in my car when I get it back together. The door panels are a little disappointing to me. They seem so plain compared to the cloth ones that I am used to.
