Strut bushings/spacers?

It looks like I might be able to go with an 11" brake conversion (woohoo!) but I have a question. Is using washers the only way to shim out a strut to a TC spindle or are there spacers/bushings we can use? I was thinking that this should be a common performance part that should work better than washers...

Some aftermarket struts do come with "official" spacers, which are...

...washers. ;)

There's absolutely nothing wrong with using washers. Once they're trapped between the spindle and strut, they can't go anywhere, so...I don't see what's the hesitation in using them...

If you put the washers on the front side of the spindle can you increase your caster as opposed to the back side of the spindle?

The struts I bought from Ether947 had spacers with 'em - the spacers were rectangular with two holes. Just fancy washers, really...
