I'm new and need help.

I finally I found this site when i have been looking for so long. I have a few q's I have an 86 cougar ls and I want to seriously upgrade it. I'm not rich but I am gonna put the 8.8 rear end on with 3.55's, but the way I' m gonna do it is 1st c4 tran, drive shaft, and rear end. what will it do or how would it affect a stock eng. plus whats the best cold air intakes to put in my car. :cougarsmily: and did these cars came with an rpm limiter to keep it from going over 88mph?

It goes faster than 88mph.The speedo only reads that high.I'm selling mine right now and it goes to 199mph.The car's air intake is already a cold air intake.remove the air silencer from the inner fender and call it good. With 3.55's,you'll have better take off and the 3.55's are a good all around gear.Nice highway cruising, decent on the gas mileage.C-4,I can't really say.I like my AOD.Especially when I'm going down the interstate at 80 and only pulling 2000 rpms.

welcome:D
take a look at each section and its purpose and you will likely find exactly what you were looking for.  There is a ton of rear end info but you wont find much rear end info in the engine tech section.

I'm asking $25.00 shipped. It's an upgrade that can be done to them by dissambling the speedo and soldering a jumper in there.I believe it reads about 144,000.
