'88 Bird with manual windows

There's an '88 in a local town, it's a Base, 5.0, power locks, manual windows, both seat manual.

Blue interior, white exterior. This car USED to be for sale, dunno if it still is though.

I'd always thought the car was a 3.8, but today, as I was leaving town, I decided to stop in, and I popped the hood..and there was a 5.0 at rest. Even though I'm cash-shy right now, I'm gonna ask em about it...it's been sitting for over a year, and is pretty rough...pretty much all I'd use would be the engine wiring, the transmission-(if it's good), fuel lines, and manual driver's seat base. The "H" in the VIN indicates it as an '88, but the door jamb sticker has a date of 6-87...my white one is a year newer, 6-88, also "H".
Imagine my surprise at finding a V8  near in my own yard..maybe there IS a future for my car after all.....

There's 2 quick ways that I know of to find out if it's an 87 or 88. All 87 sports had a single tail pipe where as the 88's split into dual tail pipes. Also the 87 sports had a digital cluster and the 88's had the buttstuffog.

There might be some other ways of telling but those are the obvious ones.

6/'87 will be a '87, production usually continues till July on most models. Both of my TCs are June '88 builds, and I've seen July '88 cars...

Vin will contain HH if a '87 and JH if a '88

I tell you the easy way to tell.. where the engine harness connects.. if its two identical shaped connectors but two different colors its an 88.. if there are three... one grey round.. one black with 4 wires and a single wired connector than its an 87.
