Curious

Just wondering if anyone has completed a HO conversion on their bird or cougar and has ran it at the track for a before and after comparison after the swap? I am curious to know the improvment the extra power has made in a 1/4 mile run. I would assume it would be somewhat simular to the LSC times...maybe a little better due to the lower weight of the bird over the LSC. I believe the LSC ran around a 15.8 or so in the 1/4 correct? Mind you i believe the LSC had 3.27 gears so that would give a bit of an advantage over the t bird/cougars stock 2.73-3.08 gears. Just a conversation starter...

Vinnie,
If you had to guess what you would run with the combo you have right now what would you guess?

I ran it this summer with a head gasket on wrong blocking the water flow, and the number 4 injector not plugged in (I didn't know it) and ran a 15.6,then,after fixing everything and doing a tune-up,set the timing,it ran a 14.3.I was pleased with that. The project car will run much better with the mods that are planned. My current set-up is doing well.I'll keep it for now.I am looking for a local 351W and I'll go from there.

100.7 mph.I'm hoping for better this spring. The timing chain has a lot of miles on it.I just bought a new one the other day, plus,I'd like to use some better tires.I was running on my Good Year Eagles. also had the Warlock lers uncapped when I ran.It may not have made a huge difference, but it didn't hurt.I can't get my timing just right.I think my chain has too much slack in it.That makes a world of difference.
