so thats depressing December 08, 2006, 07:40:16 PM i was heading dowards work afterschool and decided to take the back roads. well when i turned at the intersection from the main road onto to smaller road, i decided it break the back end loose, just to have a little fun, cus its friday and there werent any cars around, so i figured whatever. but i wasnt entirely thinking about everything that whould make a difference, like i was just about on empty(like the low gas light was on) and i took the spare and jack out because i wanted to race my buddies camaro tomorow. kno i kno the back end is pretty light in these things, but considering the variables, it was very light. i wasnt even going fast, but half way through the turn i mashed it to kick the back out, and it just kept wipping, i turned the wheel...over corrected, turned it back, over corrected again...into an embankment. "FU(K!!! THE CAT!!!" was all i thought, didnt even think to check me, but i was quik to get out and look at the damage. the damage1) ripped off the GST front facia...didnt really damage it, but ripped it off and scratch the paint2) the passenger side gst kit is just about ruined...i dont kno how much it costs to fix fiberglass or plastic(whichever it is...it looks like plastic) not pretty looking tho3) passenger front fender was really screwed up, some of the guys at work really did a good job fixing that, u can still tell theres damages, but its way nicer now4) the frame was slightly bent, and again, the guys at work fixed that up nice, and it bent after the suspension, so it still rides about the same, but the front clip doesnt quit line up right, pretty close though5)and the cooling fan broke off 2 finsluckily im perfectly fine! but the cat aint the same as it used to be, paint scratched, i think i may go with out the kit then a real py looking one...i gotta decide how much i want it (ipersonally, i think it does look alot better with it on) messed up fender, and now im pretty depressed, this sucks, my car was one of, if not THE nicest looking fox cat/bird ive seen in real life. this sucks. it could be alot worse, but still, my car is about the only nice thing i own, but not anymore.moral of the story, its not worth it to act dumb, even if u wanna have a lil' fun like i did, u can only do it so many times before u screw it up big time. i feel like i kicked myself in the balls on this one. now i really need another fox cat or bird. i figure if i get another fox, while im fixing the cougar , i can finally do all the performance upgrades i wanted to do...but this time ill be sure to keep it on the track where all that belongs Quote Selected

so thats depressing Reply #6 – December 09, 2006, 06:59:05 AM Dumbass! :pbb: Dont worry, you're not alone. I ruined a perfect body on an 87 Turbocoupe years ago when I kicked the back end out into a guard rail on a chicane turn at 70 MPH. It smashed the drivers side tail light and dented the panel. It also put a wrinkle in the roof and above the fender on the other side. Yep, I bent the frame. So I know how you feel. The really bad thing in my case was that I had only just bought the car 3 weeks earlier... Needless to say, I dont ass about on the street anymore. It's potentailly too costly. Plus there's enough other idiots out there trying to kill me on the road... They dont need any help from me, heheh. Quote Selected
so thats depressing Reply #7 – December 09, 2006, 09:40:22 AM Ive gone into an embankment backwards attempting to drift. Its part of learning how to drive my friend. The good thing is, cars are repairable and replaceable. Quote Selected

so thats depressing Reply #9 – December 09, 2006, 05:42:26 PM actual, i do need a pass. side fender. we were able to make the one on there better, but u can still tell i hit something, so i would really aprieciate a new one. i kno i really fudged up, but whatever, i took it prety hard when it first happened, but for some reason, it didnt seem to bother me too much today. i guess it still runs the same, rides the same steer the same, and when your inside it, it looks like nothing has happened, its only when u look at the car is when u can tell something happened. ill try to get pictures, but it may be a while, because as u all should kno, i dont have a digital camera and thats y my avatar has been a little tiny picture. i did take pics as soon as it happened, i can take some more of what it looks like after the handywork of the guys i work with. i definatly learned my lesson, im gonna quit doing stupid like that, u dont really realize that it can happen to you...untill it really does happen to you, then u straighten up.btw, shawn, do u have any plastic cooling fans? i broke 2 fins off of mine and the one from ford is expensive and will take a week to get to me. so if u have an extra i'd greatly appritiate that.
