'87 Anniversary Cougar

My mother recently died and I have her '87 Anniversary cougar.  She was the original owner. It has just under 17000 miles.  There are a few minor problems.  Radio switch and Equalizer switch not working well.  The Sunroof doesn't close well with the button.  It has been garaged it's lifetime. Looks very good and runs great.  Just made the trip from Ponca City, OK to Crosby, TX (about 564 miles)with no problems.

Was wondering what it might sell for.  We are in the Houston, TX area.  Will probably give to my daughter unless it is worth a bunch!

I'm sorry to hear about your mother.
The car sounds great. Now here are my questions...
If you give it to your daughter, will it be for her to drive daily? Or will she be keeping it in the condition it is with low miles etc?
Is there any sentimental value that would have you keep it or are you just looking to get rid of it?

Yes, 20ths are difficult to come by and a mint one like yours sounds it is, would be very rare. I just hope that if you do sell it, it goes to someone who will keep it as it is now and not modify it.
It's a beautiful car and it should be preserved as it is. If I had money, I'd definately make you an offer.

Do you have better/bigger pictures?

It is hard to judge value by those shots.

Forget it.  I asked the same thing in addition to a block heater and the "AX" code and the reply was,
"OK, I think I shall just give the car to my daughter.  Thanks for your interest."
"lol.. because not too many people care for that style of car"

Lesleet -

I'm also sad to hear about your mom...I lost my dad about 5 years ago - the toughest thing I've ever gone through in my life, to be sure.

I'm a fan of the Anniversary Edition Cougars...and I happen to live in Baytown!

I would love a chance to swing by and take a look at the car...might be interested in it for myself.

Please respond - - - I am sending you my phone numbers via a private message now.

Thanks,

-Royce

even if she does give it to her daughter she still oughta show it off! i wanna drool over how new everything looks.

i remember once there was a 20th anniversary on ebay like a year ago, had like 5000 miles on it, the underside looked absolutely perfect, black paint and everything. apparently this thing was driven as a collector car or something. MAN that thing made me jealous.

but thats bad i should be thankful. my car is in great shape, only a little bit of rust starting on the front most, bottom most tip of the panel right behind the right rear wheel. and the underside is great too, just surface rust on the driveshaft, axle, stuff like that, a little on edges of some frame members, etc....

....but guys back me up on this you see a car like yours with that little wear/mileage, cmon tell me the feeling HASNT crossed your mind!

i guess its as they say....theres always one better out there right?
