Cam Timing

What if anything can I gain with a 4 Degree advance on a Stock EFI Cam.. Besides  the valves opening 4 degrees sooner before TDC..

Here's a general rule of thumb, advancing moves your power band down some rpm and let's it come on sooner, retarding it brings it on later and will usually net you a peak HP gain, albeit on the high end.  With stock internals and street gears I'd leave it straight up.
