just need a little advice...

Just have a couple engine questions that are probably no-brainers, but just wanting to make sure...

First off, I've got a 5.0SO that I pulled from an '87 Tbird, it needs a throttlebody, as it was removed already.
I was wondering, would it be better to just put the HO upper/lower intake on, and TB?
And if i use the HO upper/lower/TB, will it work with the SO eec?
And before I set the engine in my car, would y'all recommend putting on my E7 heads? (no brainer, i reckon)

Actually, the only thing that is stopping me from doing the full HO conversion is the cam, eec, and upper/lower, and throttle body.

Either way, I know I'll need the eec, and TB, so i guess I basically answered my own questions...220 or so HP sounds way better than 150-160

I have E7's, 19lb injectors, stock Stang HO headers, and a good solid bottom end for it.

I'll need an HO cam, upper/lower/TB and what, Stang H-pipe?
I'll also need V8 Tbird fuel lines, but first off, I want to get the engine squared away.
Sorry for the long post, just wanting to make sure I'm on the right track here..:dunce:

You can run the HO intake and TB on a SO with no problem I know of...

Heads your choice, E7s willl give approx 20hp with all other parts being HO... ON a engine with a SO cam, I doubt you could tell much difference..

BTW the lower intakes are identical for HO & SO...

Get the '86-'93 Stang or '86-'92 LSC H pipe...

So even if i use HO upper, and TB, i'm safe to use the 14# injectors, and SO eec, and cam until I get the HO eec, then i need to swap injectors, and cam, right?
I think I got the gist of it all now..thanks!

Just slap the HO T-body(need the EGR spacer as well) on the SO intake. For the 1/4hp gain you MAY get on a SO, it ain't even worth the effort to swap the upper(unless it's already removed)... The T-body/spacer is the big restriction... Anyway, if you have problems reinstall the SO TB, it will choke enough air flow that the engine won't even know it has the HO spacer and upper...

HO cam, 19lb inj and EEC must be used together for decent results... But don't forget the exaust system, headers and free flowing pipes/lers are a must for any engine to perform... Forget this back pressure  that's often thrown around... If any car losses preformance with a clean exaust system, then it needs more fuel PERIOD. The reason is now the engine is to lean because of the extra air flow. Creating air flow is the whole idea anyway, more air = need for more fuel... Adding fuel without extra air flow is a waste of time...

Get the cam and eec before you put the engine in the car,cam is fairly cheap(less than 50bucks)and someone probably has one on here.
As for the eec,SD eec's are cheap and plentifull, you could probably get both for under 100.00,then re gasket the whole engine before install and your set.
No need to worry about leaky gaskets or tearing the eng apart again to do the cam when it's in the car..
Just looking on ebay under mustang cam and mustang computer and there is a 94 302 HO cam for 40.00 buy it now and an eec out of an 86 auto car for 1.99 with 2 days left, not sure if these links will work but here goes.

Any HO 5.0 cam will require the HO EEC and 19lb inj. No major difference in any of the HO cams, a '87 EEC will work with a '92 cam or any other year...

Cool, thanks Tom, that covers all I didn't know.
Just wasn't sure if the newer (mass air) cams would work with an older HO Speed-Density eec.
Thanks again!

By the way if your looking for an upper and tb from an HO i've got a set,not sure what i want for them though, shipping would probably be a little pricey as i live in canada.

There's an upper/lower/tb I'm watching on ebay, but if it doesn't pan out, I'll give you a shout, and we'll see what it works out. Thanks!
