Holy bacon.
I guess I have one more thing to worry about...

Ah I wouldn't worry too much, I have yet to have any major turbo problems (knock on wood)

With the factory T3 on your cougar you'll be fine.

Its 100% done for now. Its pumping oil into the intake, so the bearings finally let go. Ill just block off the oil feed, and baby it.
It's Gumby's fault.

Yeah, but the car smokes more than I do.
I plan on a complete rebuild within the next year.

that sucks, I was lucky that when my turbo went some sludge plugged up the oil feed line solid (probabally led to the turbos demise in the first place) if your no longer making boost remove the intake tubes from the turbo and route them together you will get a bit more power out of it.

I found the turbo that will work well for my setup, its a T3/T04E 50-trim.Its also an "antisurge" turbo, so

Shawn, what do you mean by this?  mine surged well I could hear what I thought was it surging :dunno:

I guess it will be another TO4E for me since they are a dime a dozen.....

Theres two different meanings to the term "compressor surge"

One meaning is the more common, when the throttle blade closes, and the air is forced back through the turbo.

The other meaning is when the turbo is pushing more air than the engine will physically take, as in a large restriction, and the turbo "hiccups" because the air is forcing back to the turbo.
It's Gumby's fault.
