theres a rattling noise comming from my drivers side cat, it sound like the honeycomb stuff inside is falling apart. well, if im gonna go ahead and replace the cats, i am looking into a true duel set up. would a mark VII headers-back setip up work on a 88 cougar, and if it will, would i need to do any major modifications? and would it even be worth my time? i kno its supoosed to help alot in a ho engine(which i want to have soon), but how big of a gain would come from this setup on a so?

black jack did it i think. the headers will fit, the h pipe is similar to the mustang one, but bent different slightly and i think its 2.25" instead of 2.5" like a mustang setup.

I was the one that sent the H over to Blackjack. It was a 2.5" H that was on my cougar, that came off my 91 Mark VII, until I got the off road H. Your only problem will be if you have a column shift.

yea, i got the floor shift, but will the mark exhaust clear floor shift linkage okay? and what about hangers and driveshaft/suspension/axle clearances? sorry about all the questions, i just dont wanna buy the exhaust to realize i got myself into a whole lot of trouble.

Holy !  How the hell did I miss this guy?  MOUNT AIRY, MARYLAND????  WTF???  Hey man, there is NO reason why we can't hook up every now and then, especially at Jimmie Cone.

I have the Mark 7 H-pipe with cats on my 88 XR-7.  I have the Mustang/Mark 7 headers, the Walker brand Mark 7 H-pipe with cats, and Flows for the 87-93 Mustang LX.  Fits fine, doesn't touch the trans shift linkage but it's  close.  The biggest difference between the Mustang H-pipe I had on there and this Mark 7 H-pipe is the Mark 7 one is a little shorter at the back end.  My exhaust guy had to make new midpipes because the ones I had weren't long enough.
"lol.. because not too many people care for that style of car"

well. gaaaaaallay, another marylander, and a close one at that. your cougar might have been the one i seen that one time, i've only seen one on the road since ive owned mine, a black 87-88 cat, so it probably was yours. yep, we gotta jimmie cone it up soon.

alright, i guess, mark 7 it is, if its just a lil short after the axle hump part, i can just long tips, or extend it if i have to, but thanks for the input, i gotta shop around, and get it, thanks again
