347 stroker on the cheap?

I'm just starting to hatch longterm plans for this.  I plan to get myself a junkyard roller block to start with but a full stroker kit is a little out of my price range (saving money isn't my strong point).  I'm looking at the possibility of using this crank:

and these rods:

along with the stock pistons freshened up a bit.  I've heard about some of the issues 347s are known for but I've read they're not as common as with the older kits.  The engine isn't going to see heavy abuse so it doesn't need to be invincible.  Any comments on this combo?

You get what you pay for. I understand money is tight, but if you cant afford to do it right, or do a good job, save your pennies and wait. Ive learned that the hard way.

Valid point.  I'm not even sure I can use the stock type pistons in a stroker anyway.

As far as I know, you cant.

Your best bet is to work with heads, cam, intake, etc, because with your current setup, thats your bottle neck, and on a 347, its going to hurt performance even more so.

My advice is to just save up so money to be able to do things the first go-around. Itll take more time, but the results are well worth it.

Well one of the reasons I'm considering a stroker is my worrying about my reground stock crank holding up to big numbers.  I'm worried about breaking it if I go too far.  And if I plan to change the crank, a stroker seemed like a good idea.  Incidently I wasn't even considering keeping E7 heads and a HO cam on this engine.  I'd come up with something better.

A stock crank will handle more power than a stock block will. Guys break their blocks before their cranks generally.

If you use those stock pistons on a stroker crank they will stick out of the top of the block 1/4 of freakin inch.

Actually if there's a way to get a 351 in there with a Stealth manifold on it, without modifying the hood I'd be all for that.  Is there a way to lower it a few inches?

You can get a drop base air cleaner, otherwise there isn't much you can do. I think it's tough to fit a 351 under a stock hood.

Thinner air cleaner, no carb spacer, solid mounts, k-member with 1-inch motor mount drop... there are a few options.

A 1" drop with the k-member may be all I need.  I can gain another 1/4 by losing the spacer, and I may have the other 1/4 I need already.  I'd rather not combine the k-member with the solid mounts if I can help it, seems like it might mess up the header alignment.  Where would I get the k-member?  Is there a junkyard source?

K-member will be aftermarket. AJE Racing makes them, I'm sure others do as well.

Hmm.  Those k-members aren't cheap.  And my research suggests those solid mounts fail frequently and cause alot of excess vibration.
