Why I Hate CIF...*Solved* Reply #15 – July 04, 2006, 07:04:13 PM Call Feezle's Auto Wrecking (724-336-5512 or 724-336-5755) and see if they still have a 1984-85 V8 Cougar/T-Bird in stock. If they do, there's your harness. They're just a short drive from you, over the border in PA.Otherwise you may be able to use a 1984-85 Mustang V8 engine harness, in which case you could try MPS (http://www.mpsautosalvage.com/).In any case I would be inclined to agree that you probably should just swap a new harness in. It's not really that difficult. Unless you feel the problem can be tracked down in this current one, it's best to cut your losses if you want to get the car back on the road soon. Quote Selected

Why I Hate CIF...*Solved* Reply #18 – July 05, 2006, 07:08:50 PM Ok, very simple question. Is it possable to have a sotck wiring harness not match up to a wiring schmatic. For example on my schmatic for 84-85 5.0 (302) CFI is says that for my EGR Valve Position Sensor that the colors are Black w/ White, Brown w/ Lt. Green and Orange w/ White. Two are right but Brown w/ Lt. Green is a Black w/ Lt. Green. It's little things like this that are keeping me insane. I'm not looking for the car to run just to get power to find out what the hell needs done. To get power I'm trying to at least connect all of the harness. And ware can I get a DVOM? I live in hick-vill and the closet things I have right now are NAPA and Autozone. Quote Selected
Why I Hate CIF...*Solved* Reply #19 – July 06, 2006, 04:23:19 PM The color codes in your schematic match my "84 EVTSM and my wiring diagrams. These things are not 100% pure. Sorry about that. This is why you need the OHM meter function of the DVOM to verify where the other end of the wire goes. For sensor wires that go to the EEC:Disconnect the the EEC connector. Disconnect the wires at the sensor end and short two of the wires together. Check for continuity with your OHM meter at the EEC connector on the pin numbers for the shorted wires. Quote Selected
