As you read this, my beloved TC is on the rails, heading east for Nova Scotia.

Thursday morning, we finished loading the contents of our house onto a 53' CN Rail Container, and in the afternoon the Supertruck and TurboCoupe got loaded into the container as well. It was a VERY tight squeeze, but we managed to give both vehicles about two or three feet on either end, just in case.

Anyway, I've got my fingers crossed for a good five days, waiting to see if everthing arrives on the other side with little to no damages.

I'm just glad I don't have to unload any of it. :giggle: That's up to the wife and whoever she can scrounge together to do the work.

Friday evening, Ange and Coira left on a plane for Halifax, with my dog, even. I miss them like crazy already. It's like I have no purpose anymore. No one to go home to. No cuddles, no little voice bellering 'Dada', and worst of all, no supper waiting. ;) I do get to spend the rest of the month playing bachelor, though. I have a feeling that will get old pretty quick, though.

Saying goodbye to the wife and daughter was tough. Seeing all of our belongings in a container bound for God's country was a blessing. But seeing someone else moving into my house while we drove by on the way to pick up Buffy from the neighbours was the hardest thing to see.

I hope everything gets back east safely. Did you strap the vehicles down?

There was no time to go buy straps. :( Yes, I'm at the mercy of inertia. It took all the BS in me to stall the driver long enough for someone to fetch some last minute padlocks for the container doors. I spent three days literally living by deadlines, and stretching every one.

I know the truck is going to hit the side. But it will be on an already dented fender and rusty door, so no biggie there. But I gave the TC as much space as possible, and have our matress over the nose, in case the truck rocks back to far (which should be impossible to rock three feet).

I wasn't lieing when I said I had my fingers crossed.

CougarSE, I'm moving back to Nova Scotia at the end of April. There is more than enough work for me at home, and we want the munchkin to grow up near her grandparents, and the rest of her family. We've already achieved our ten year goal of getting debt free in five years, so there is no reason to stay here anymore, other than the money. But it's not about money. :)

Antigonish, actually. :) Still, it's only an hour and a half from Truro. Decent.

OMG you have a lot of nerve. I wouldn't be able to send my car and truck across country without straping them down first. But, you did say they were goin be train? That should be a little smoother than by truck. I hope they arrive undamaged.

All my shiznit arrived in Nova Scotia unharmed. No dents, no broken plastic or glass (that wasn't already broken). It only took them 1 1/2 hrs to unload everything. Anyway, since I didn't have time to buy straps to tie the car and truck down, this is a huge relief. I can uncross my fingers now. :tg:
