cobra r question

What all would need to be done to fit some 17 x 9" cobra r's under an 86 cougar. I still have the 4 lug setup with stock brakes. Just woundering if it takes major modifications because of the width. thanks- Dennis

as long as the offset is right they will bolt right up. I assume you are talking about the 4 lug aftermarket wheels.

I have also put 17x9's on my car, i have experienced only one problem outside tire rubbing over large humps in the road, i just pushed in the inside lip of the front fenders and it has virtually disappeared completely. I am using 245/45 bf goodrich G-force tires..

so here are specs on the wheels im thinking of- from what iv read on cool cats it sounds like they'r right- So from the few responses it sounds like i wuldnt need spacers? please let me know- thanks

The wheels are 17x9 with a 5.78" backspace(+20mm offset) . The lug pattern is 4x4.25 (108mm).
