first day

well i just got home from work and i guess it was a good first day because they invited me to come back tomorrow and nobody told me anything but that i was doing a good job:tg: apparently tomorrow is expected to be realy buissy so i think i have my work cut out for me.

Nice....I just started a new job 2 weeks ago as well.  I'm at a used car dealership...Philly guys might know it....CarSense.  They sell roughly 280 cars a month...so no slow days haha...especially on my line...I take the used cars, check them, inspect them, fix them and then send them to body or detail before they get put on the lot for sale...sweet gig.

They had me start out with a Team leader and he showed me the ropes...then by day 4 I was on my own.  It's nice having my own bay.  I'm still warming up to everyone else there but I feel I'm holding my own.

i just finished my first week as a maintanance/mold setter position in a plastics factory.  They got me doing some heavy stuff, but i got it on lock down.  Nothing to it really, i've done worse jobs working on my t-bird.  Anyway, sucks cause i'm doing hard labor and only getting paid as a temp worker still... 6.75 for like a 9.50 an hour job.  company's cheating the system!

I worked at a plastic bottle manufacturer for nearly a year, it was a decent place.
What kind of mold machines does your workplace use?
Where I was at used Haysen, Bespooge, and Fischer machines, and I worked on them all...in addition to checking the bottles from time to time. (QA)

I made 9.50/hour, but like all good things, they downsized and I lost my job...
Full time farming now, but if another 10-12 dollar an hour job came along, I'd be tempted, especially if it's auto related.
Factory jobs need not apply! lol

it's just presses... we make alot of honda parts, mainly headlight housings.  some are puppiesanese presses with funny names and others are just big presses, i don't know really... i'd rather be working at an oil change station, but the only one around is freakin wal-mart!  but i'm really grateful that i have a job, alot of people can't say that because of this economy.  So to everyone with a job, good job.

well day two went good. i started the computer training program and have done realy well on it so far.
