86 3.8 to 5.0/T-5

I know this is just another one of those dumb 5.0 tranplant threads, but I need to clarify a few things.  I'd like to know if I would be able to keep my digital dash.  I know that it will need modified but I'd like to keep it functional if at all possible. Also, I need to know what else I'll need besides the engine and wiring required.  I'd like to swap from my engine to a 5.0 with mass air.  Also, any problems anyone encountered with this swap is appreciated.  I don't want a to build a drag car, but down the road I'd like to own anything in this town if possible.  As it stands I don't know much about the wiring needed, or anything else, but I'm looking to see how much this swap will cost to see if it's feasible at the moment.  Also, would it be better to just use an H-pipe then straight pipes, or is backpressure required?  I've read all the cool cats tech stuff, these are just a few things that need cleared up.

i can say that u would either want an H pipe or better yet x-pipe in the exaust to even the exaust pulses between the two engine banks.  im soon to be putting a carbed 302 in my 84 cougar... at the moment it will have automatic but later will get 5 speed trans.
Just my 2 cents that i can come up with atm.

So you have a full digital dash with a v6?  Or is it just a partial digital?

You will need a v8 harness out of an 86.  It will plug right in, othere years will require modifacation.

You will need motor mount brackets for an 86 87 or 88.  or wait for chucks next batch (right chuck? Next batch right?)

You will need to move your battery to the driverside.

You will need a coil bracket out of a 86 87 or 88 v8 or one out of a n 88 v6.

The v8 harness places the coil and the solenoid on the driver side.

For your 5 speed swap.

Changing the pedals is easy.  Drop the colomn and switcha roo.

If you have the smaller shifter boot under the fancy one it will tell you how big to cut the hole.

Simply buy a jegs h pipe for 100 bucks.

You will need a mustang v8 exhaust hanger because your will only support one side of the h pipe.  Probably work but why chance it.

Yeah, I've got full digital, and I'd like to jumper it to go to 199, then change the filter to red.  So, I'm guessing I'm gonna have to find a 86 5.0 harness.  Oooh, thats gonna be a tough one around here.  I'm thinking I'll be lucky to find a decent 5.0/5-speed for a decent price.

I've got a full digital cluster out of an 85 or 86 V8 Tbird...
I'll have to dig it out, I think at one time I was going to do the W2/199 mod to it, don't know how far I got with it, couldn't have been far, because I found out I couldn't use it in my 1988 cars...
10 bucks plus the shipping for it, it's yours...let me know if ya want it.
I'd do the 199 mod to it for ya, but if something happens, I don't wanna screw it up. Screwed up another base cluster somehow, dunno how-solder joints are both good
