Auto computer with standard transmission,

Ok, I'm convinced there is a difference.  From my own observation here is what I have come up with.  When in an auto car and you let off the gas the computer opens the IAC all the way to prevent the car from stalling at a stop.  Now in a standard car, it doesn't do this.  So with my Cougar having a Auto comp. with the T-5 what happens is a small rpm surge everytime I shift.  When you let off the gas to shift the rpm's will climb or stay instead of coming down.  It doesn't cause any real drivability problems but you can tell.  Now this is not the first car I've had to do this.  My 87 Ranger was once an Auto, I converted it as well.  It did the same exact thing as the cougar, same rpm surge.  I changed the computer out with a 5 speed computer and the problem went away.  Drives like it should.  So just telling everyone, there is a difference.

to bad no speed density 5-speed computers for the car is out. only the mustangs but that was mass air.
trick flow street heat intake , 24lbs injetors, ported GT-40's (Chip) long tube headers. and a Performance Automatic C4, with a hurst shifter!

Got the same problem, but the opposite...auto with 5spd processor.  With the auto computer the car would hold the rpms to smoothly change gears, not so in the manual computer. If I floor it in 1st to pass and let off before the upshift, it hits 3rd instead of 2nd and hits it hard.

If the pinouts are the same btw a 3.8L and a 5.0 Mustang, you can get a stock speed density Mustang computer, a twEECer, program it to read for 6 cylinders and 3.8Ls...you can change those parameters with a twEECer and a laptop.
