i was wondering about that, and my hood comes dam near close to not shutting as in if i push down above the strut i can tap the shock mount with the hood. but even with the struts dissconnected its the same height. but that does solve one of the problems. im glad somebody pointed it out, im not ashamed to hear i did something retarded if it solves a problem for me lol

You did follow the MM instructions, right?

1. Before dismantling anything on your car, lay a
straight edge across the fenders and measure down
to the top of the strut shaft. Record this dimension,
you will need it later.

15. Install 1/2" washers over the 12mm bolts of the
Bottom Plate. These washers will rest directly on top
of the car’s strut tower.

16. Install the 1/2" inside diameter spacers over the
12mm bolts of the Bottom Plate.

21. Install the strut shaft through the spherical
bearing with five of the 16mm (inside diameter) spacers.

If the car is at stock ride height, place one of the
thinnest spacers on top of the spherical bearing.
Place four remaining spacers under the spherical bearing.

If the car is lowered from stock, position the spacers
so that the top of the strut shaft is higher than the
dimension recorded in step 1 by the same amount
that the car is lowered.

That still wouldn't explain the lowness, as the springs hold up the car. The struts/mounts just keep the wheels from falling over.
