questions about power steering

well i found out that ive got a power steering leak, and i was quite low on fluid...

so, i went out and bought the motomaster type F auto tran fluid and filled her up.

only thing is... i thnk i  might have over filled a little bit...

is this going to be a problem? or am i gonna be ok. it seems like a lot of people stress not overfilling the power steering but i want to make sure.

other thing, i kind of though that when i filled it, some of it would drop down into the pump, but it seemed as though it just stayed right there, sitting in the top? normal? :canada:  :tg:

its only gonna move the fluid level down when it needs more fluid, and when the pump is being used. I would take some out just for kicks

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

OH MY GOD!!!!!!

You overfilled it??  Don't you realize what could happen????

When the fuild warms up, it will expand slightly, and can leak out the top of the reservoir, making a tiny puddle under the car, possibly leave actual drips on the road, and make the outside of the reservoir all icky!

I don't see how you will ever be able to show your face in public again.

Haha, nice.  Sometimes overfilling supposedly can cause aeration, but I just don't see how.  I don't see why it's such a sin that they felt the need to put it in yellow letters on the cap "DO NOT OVERFILL".  Maybe someone knows...

As long as its a inch or so from the top it will be fine, otherwise see Master Blasters post...

That said, if its over full and the wheels are turned with the engine OFF, it will push approx a cup of fluid out.
