Need info on a 57' Dodge Coronet

Hey guys some lady I work with wants to buy a motor and tranny for one of these monsters, shes asking me what to buy..

The only info I have is it was an v8 car w/ push button tranny...

Anyone have a good link or some answers I can pass onto her..? I would think to trash that push button  and go right to a floor shifter or something?~?

what size motors were available for these?

any info would be much apreciated, thanks

Sorry don't know nuthin' about no stinkin' Dodge(except to take the name literally and DODGE them). Just pissed the guy off across the street when he wanted to sell me his Dakota, told him the same thing.

If it was a '57 Ford I could tell you about Ford o Matic trannys, 312 Thunderbird Special 312s, etc.

I think they had a 292 or 392 Hemi in 'em, or something to that effect. Not related to the legendary 426 Hemi. The pushbutton is the suck, I knew a guy that had a '56. He hated it, but it had a flathead six...
