alarm help.(stock wire identification)

me and my buddy are going to hook up my old alarm in the mustang and we know where all but 2 wires go and i have no idea what the wire it came off of does. i know it was over on the driverside kick pannle in my cougar and it was a  Red with a light blue wire. both of these mystery wires run to a alarm relay and this is the only thing holding us back from installing this in the car. so what does this red with light blue wire controll.  by the way 1988. 3.8 mercury cougar. this came out of . any ideas.

Red with a light blue
That would be the one from the ignition switch to the little push-on connector on the starter solenoid. Alarm is triggered, relay opens the circuit, turning the key doesn't spin the starter.
